Laughing at Crying Babies

FINALIST FOR THE 2020 LOUIS SUDLER PRIZE

My original solo piece and Yale Theater Studies Senior Project in Acting, as directed by Mia Fowler and Deborah Margolin. Somewhere between Hannah Gadsby's Nanette and Kristina Wong's Wong Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, LACB fuses stand-up comedy and theatricality to interrogate my relationship with race and sexuality in America and American Theater as a Person of Color, as well as provide meta-commentary on how these subjects are dealt with in comedy. It analyzes the insecurities children experience as they grow in a nation dissimilar from themselves and begs the question, ""Why do we make fun of white people?" Film and Photos by Sydney Holmes.
